November was a Good Income Month

Hi all,

Happy to say that November ended as a good writing income month for me.  A lot of factors were involved in increasing my income - many out of my control - some just good luck. Here's how it went.

Suite101

My Suite101 earnings ended slightly higher than last month yet nowhere near what they were in August and September.  Although, I haven't added any new articles there since my income dropped a few months back.  I'm going to let Suite sit for the time being and get back to it after the first of the year.

EHow

My EHow earnings (old EHow) did their highest month ever in November - up only 10% from October but I thought October's earnings were high.  Compared to my average earnings at EHow, November is up 50%.  I have no control over my EHow earnings anymore since the changes made in April yet the income continues to rise.  No complaints here.

As for my DMS EHow earnings - I ended the month with $2.46 in earnings for 9 articles.  Since this was the first month I tried this program, I was happy with the results.  I am going to try to add 5-10 more articles in December and will be excited to see how the earnings do.

Google Adsense

I am thrilled to say I finally reached payout with my Google Adsense earnings in early November and I earned another 13.70 for the month of November so my Google payment should be $113.70 this month.  Ever since I hit the $9.00 mark with Google for one month in June (as I mentioned in this post), my monthly Google income has steadily grown each month. The majority of my Google income comes from Triond, this blog, my health blog and then some of the bookmarking sites I use.  Speaking of which...

Xomba and Infopirate

I have had a little success earning money from both Xomba and Infopirate since I started adding bookmarks for articles on those sites.  I've been adding bookmarks at Xomba for over a year now but have only been with Infopirate for a few months.  Year-to-date I have earned $4.08 at Xomba and $2.24 at Infopirate.  Every little bit counts so if you are bookmarking articles, you may want to try both of these sites.

Constant-Content

I had a great month at Constant-Content because of all the articles I added in September.  I sold 9 articles which added up in income quickly.  Now I have to get to work and add a few more Full-Rights article on CC in the hope they sell in the next couple of months.  If you try CC, don't be discouraged if your articles don't sell right away.  Most articles do sell eventually and if it is a hot topic, it will sell quickly.  Most of my articles were on family health, so they went slowly.  But I was happy to see so many go in November to pad my income a little.

Triond

Triond continues to be a happy little surprise for me each month.  I have a little over 50 articles there and my income from both the site and Google Adsense has grown each month.   No, I'm not getting rich on Triond, but I earn more money there each month than I do at Examiner only by adding 2-4 articles a month.  And it has helped me greatly to finally reach my Google Adsense payout - so Triond is definitely a keeper.

Examiner

Examiner made a few changes this month and although I know of several people who didn't like the changes, I am still writing my two topics there.  I'm kind of at a hard spot where I am earning enough each month to not want to quit but not enough to want to work too hard at it.  So I plan on adding a few articles a month to keep my topics and leave it at that.  If I give up Examiner now, I will lose all the hard work I've put into it.  If the income becomes very small, then I will reconsider keeping Examiner as a writing income.

Associated Content/Yahoo! Contributor Network

I do continue to write for AC/YCN and submit Featured Contributor articles in the Health & Wellness section that are offered to me each month.  My monthly earnings are only around $10 but I earn an additional $30 for the three assignments offered.  The main reason I like to write for AC/YCN is because I can write on any health topic I want and they aren't choosy about a particular format.  Besides, every dollar counts as far as I'm concerned.

Other Writing Income

In November I also landed a new writing gig which I will tell you about in a future post.  The pay per article is about 6 times what other sites pay and the editors are great.  I found the site when I was looking for resources for an article I was writing for and thought it looked like a fun site to write for.  So, after searching the site I found out how to apply and was accepted.  They are not a site that actively searches for writers, so it was both luck and pure tenacity that got me the writing gig.  And the best part is that I doubled my monthly writing income just by writing two articles for the new site!

Hope you had a successful month of writing and that December will treat you well too!

Happy Writing

  4. Congratulations at making AdSense payout. That first $100 is a big hurdle and should only get shorter with time. Also, selling 9 articles sounds very impressive. Hope December works out well for you.

  9. As Kidgas said, the first Google payout is the hardest to get. After that it gets a little easier each month.

    Congrats!

  11. do you ever write for regional parenting mags? would you be willing to review my ebook here if i sent it to you free? you can download a 20-page sample at my site. it's the most comprehensive guide of parenting and family mags markets ... over 230 including the bonus national, international and online markets. your blog is so encouraging! i've only made like $12 per year on ehow and now that i'm soley demand studios/ehow they are saying my stuff i submit is plagiarized, and yet they think i'm stealing stuff from my own site!
